Godalming Community Gospel Choir was founded in 2011 by Emma-Sue Prince who had been singing with London-based gospel choirs for a number of years. On moving to Godalming Emma-Sue missed the passion and dynamics of gospel-singing and decided to start GCGC. Emma-Sue's vision was to have an inclusive gospel choir open to all, regardless of faith and background, and aspiring to musical excellence.  We now have many members of all ages and from all backgrounds.

GCGC is an award-winning gospel choir who have won several categories in local competitions and we reached the national finals of BBC Gospel Choir of the Year competition in 2015.

Keyboardist, Vaughan Larmond

Vaughan has built a reputation as one of the most accomplished keyboard players in the UK.  He has been in the gospel industry for over 20 years and is currently accompanist for The Kingdom Choir. Vaughan's performance at our Christmas Showcase was outstanding.

What our members say

GCGC has given me 10 years of joy.  The uplifting music and message of gospel lives on beyond the happy Monday night rehearsals, gets absorbed into my persona and enhances the ups and downs of life.  It's unmissable!

I have had fun and friendship in an inclusive community, I've been inspired, empowered and sustained, it's been educational and enabling, harmonising not only in melody but also in body and soul.
